RIHS celebrates Teacher’s Day

03 May 2013 - Royal Institute of Health Sciences joined the nation on 2nd May, the Birth Anniversary of His Majesty the Third Gyalpo Jigme Dorji Wangchuck to celebrate Teacher’s Day. The function consisted of the ceremonial cake cutting, offering 100 butter lamps, speeches and various cultural activities by both faculty and students.

"RIHS Launches the Bachelors of science in Nursing and Midwifery Course."

The Bachelors of Science in Nursing and Midwifery Course at RIHS was formally launched on 9th July 2012 by Dr.Samlee Pliangbangchang, Regional Director, WHO, South East Asia Region, New Delhi.

 

"World Diabetes Day"

To create public awareness on the rising problem of diabetes, RIHS in collaboration with Ministry of Health and Bhutan Kidney Foundation organized a walk on 13thNovember 2012.

 

 

"Inter Category Football Tournament"

Dr.Chencho Dorjee, Director of the RIHS and Ms Anchalee Chamchuklin of the Information Management and Dissemination Unit, WHO Regional Office for South-East Asia at the RIHS Health Promotion Field site in Thimphu, Bhutan.

RIHS and WHO maintain several technical collaboration initiatives between the two organizations.

Under the auspices of The Royal Society for Senior Citizens (RSSC) and supported by  RIHS faculty and students, a half day long health check up for elderly citizens was carried out at the Memorial Chorten on Saturday the 27th.

A week long inter-category Khuru Tournament culminated in the finals on 1st November coinciding with the celebration of Coronation Day.

"2nd Batch of BPH starts in RIHS"

A total of 25 senior health workers joined RIHS to undertake the two years Bachelors in Public Health(BPH) degree programme offered by the Institute.


 

 

"Annual Institute Picnic"

Commemorating the 1st Anniversary of the Royal Wedding, the staff and students went on a picnic to Khasadrapchu on the 13th.

"GNM category is the Best Spellers in RIHS"

GNM category came first in the first ever intercategory spelling competition held in RIHS, followed by Health assistant category. Bachelor of Publich Health, Bsc Nuring and BHW upgradation also participated in the competition.
