History of Nursing
The Department of Nursing came into effect from April 2008 under the leadership of Dr.Chencho Dorji, Director of RIHS. The department comprised of Nursing in all aspects and Medical surgical nursing. The faculty teaching these subjects were included in this Depa
rtment. The staffs of JDWNR hospitals are also a part within this Department.
Relationship with teaching hospital
There is very good relationship with teaching hospital. This department deals with nurses, and a very strong relationship exists between the academic head and nursing superintendent of teaching hospital. We work in close ties with them. The nursing faculty and the sister In-charge of wards have a smooth relationship and works closely. Contacts are kept regular updating about the condition of the students. Being a teaching hospital, the nurses also takes keen interest in teaching and evaluating students making them fully responsible during clinical posting. The clinical evaluation is fully graded by them and contains 50% of total weightage. The teaching hospital and its staff are partially responsible for training the students
