Announcement for Registration and Admission

All interested and eligible GNMs graduates from 1985 till 1999 are invited to register for Selection Entrance Examination. Registration is open from 1st January-16th January 2012 (4.00 pm).  

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must have a minimum Class X pass + Diploma in General nursing and Midwifery with overall aggregate of 50 % and above. The first cohort for this programme leading to a Royal University of Bhutan Award will be graduates from 1985-1999. In addition to these criteria, candidates also have to fulfill the eligibility criteria of the BCSR 2010 pertaining to In-service training.

Selection

Selection will be based on a combined aggregate of Academic Performance in the Diploma Programme and Performance in the Entrance Examination, with a weightage of 40% and 60% respectively.

Candidates securing 50% and above in the combined aggregate will be ranked and the top 25 will be selected. Those who have passed (50% and above) but are not selected will be eligible to reappear one more time for the entrance exam with the next cohort. Those who secured less than 50 % in the first attempt will not be eligible for any more attempts.

A committee comprising of representatives from the RCSC, Ministry of Health, RUB and RIHS will oversee the conduct of the examination and make decisions on any matters related to the selection process.

The marking scheme will be as follows:

  1. Entrance Examination                              60%

Registration

All interested and eligible GNMs graduates from 1985 till 1999 are invited to register for Selection Entrance Examination. Registration is open from 1st January-16th January 2012 (4.00 pm). The registration form can be downloaded from the RIHS and MoH websites (www.rihs.edu.bt; www.health.gov.bt). The duly filled form can be submitted in person or through email to admissionrihs2012@gmail.com. The registration fee can be paid at the time of reporting for the entrance examination. Registration beyond the last date will not be accepted.

Entrance Examination

The Entrance examination will be conducted on 19thJanuary 2012 and will consist of two papers of 100 marks each of 3 hours duration (morning and afternoon).

Paper I-English (33), Dzongkha (33) and General Knowledge (34) and Paper II-Technical Matter (100 marks).

 

The pass mark is 50 % but candidates must pass both the papers. Failure to secure the pass mark in any of the papers will be considered as unsuccessful.

 

The Results will be announced on 23rdJanuary 2012 on the RIHS and MoH website.

 

Candidates will report to the College on 1stFebruary 2012.

 

Document to be submitted

Applicants must submit/produce the following documents at the time of reporting for the Entrance Examination.

 

1.         Diploma Certificate (Original)

2.         Diploma Transcript/Mark sheet (Original)

3.         Valid Audit Clearance

4.         Valid Security Clearance

5.         Citizenship ID card

6.         2 recent passport sized photographs

7.         Registration fee of Nu.1000 (Non-refundable)

 

Candidates who have already submitted their applications to the HRD, MoH need not do so. Incomplete documents will render the applicant ineligible to sit for the examination.
